The Community Education Unit focuses its efforts on early childhood development, social after-school youth programming and on summer youth camps. The programs are designed to offer parents a safe environment where they can leave their children while they work.

The unit accomplishes its goal through two programs:

This program operates Monday - Friday, year round, and offers developmentally appropriate education, which introduces academic concepts from a Bilingual/Bicultural perspective. This program enables children ages 3 to 5 years old; to participate in activities designed to develop their emotional, physical and cognitive skills.

Designed to offer working parents a safe environment where they can leave their children while they are away from home. The program offers educational and recreational activities Monday - Friday, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM during the school year, for up to 34 low-income youngsters ages 6 to 11 years old. In the summer months the program is opened from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
